Note:

City of Sammamish requires a permit for installing a range hood because it involves electrical work and structural changes for venting, and it requires inspection for fire safety. Two ( 2 ) Permits are required: Fire permit and Electrical permit.

Licensed HVAC contractor is responsible for filling documents, submitting form, obtaining the fire permits, job and inspection. In Washington state, a licensed plumber is necessary for a hood installation, especially for a gas range, because of the plumbing and gas line components involved. While the ductwork and fan installation may be completed by an HVAC professional, plumbers have specific licensing and expertise to handle the gas connection safely and in compliance with state code.

Licensed Electrician is responsible for submitting documents for el. permit, obtaining the electrical permits, job and inspection. If you apply for permit for the range hood, city will ask for its own dedicated 15- or 20-amp circuit to prevent overloading and ensure consistent power, especially if it's a high-powered model, includes smart features. According the requirements, your model, Elica Leone 1200 CFM wall-mount range hood requires a dedicated 120-volt circuit with a 15 or 20 amp circuit breaker. The wiring for the hood is hardwired, not a plug-in appliance.

Amperage: The hood draws up to 7.6 amps. A dedicated 15-amp circuit is the minimum, but a 20-amp circuit provides a safer buffer.

Power source: The hood is designed to be hardwired directly into your home's electrical system, not plugged into an outlet.
